On Thursday 15th January, Fable Cocktail Bar becomes the most science-backed dating experiment Cape Town has ever seen...and possibly the most fun one too.

Expect a great crowd aged 28–38, cocktails, chemistry, and the kind of flirting that feels effortless.

Matching is powered by Matchbox, a software using relationship science to find your most compatible match in the actual room. They’ve matched over half a million people across 40 countries… so yes, your love story might start with an algorithm, but the spark is still totally up to you.

How it works:

- When you arrive, you’ll take a matching questionnaire crafted by Matchbox’s relationship scientists (aka: people who    want your love life to be less chaotic).

- The algorithm gets to work, using science, AI, and Nobel Prize–winning economics to find your best match at the          event.

- After some mingling and mystery clues… matches are revealed.

What to expect:

The matching process is intentional, come curious and open.

If your match isn’t love at first sight, no stress. You’re at least values-aligned, which is rare enough to celebrate.

Event Structure:

This event runs on time, the algorithm waits for no one.

7:00pm – Doors open, cocktails flowing

7:45pm – Doors close, matching begins

8:00pm – Clues drop 👀

8:30pm – Matches revealed (deep breaths…)

9:30pm – Event concludes - but the night doesn’t have to

Q: What age range is this for?
A: Late 20s to Late 30s the sweet spot where people actually know what they want.

Q: What if I don't get a match?
A: We aim for a perfect 50/50 split but life happens. If there’s an uneven number, some attendees will receive a platonic match plus a free ticket to another Thursday event within 60 days.
