About the venue: A gastropub and steakhouse rated 4.2 from more than 3,850 reviews, mid-priced, open 11:30am to midnight Monday to Thursday. Reviewers single out the steaks, served on hot skillets, and describe a characterful old bar in an entry dating back centuries. Service can slow when the restaurant is full, so a group booking is worth confirming in advance.

Getting there: The venue is on Pottinger's Entry, one of Belfast's historic covered alleyways off High Street, in the heart of the city centre. Belfast Grand Central — the largest integrated transport hub in Ireland, combining rail and bus including the Dublin Enterprise service — is twelve minutes' walk. City-centre car parks are close by, but the walk from Grand Central is straightforward.
