Come and see the incredible band Daisy Hill whilst supporting a fantastic charity.
Stewart Burlison, who plays bass guitar and sings with Daisy Hill The Band, has been supporting Children North East for 13 years, when he began helping out with the charity’s annual Sandcastle Challenge.
Since then he has used his musical connections to raise funds for the charity, with an event at Live Theatre in 2012 raising £7,000 and a series of pub gigs in 2014, including a session at the Magnesia Bank in North Shields, raising a further £1,200.
The Daisy Hill Band’s concert will see eight local musicians on stage to promote the band’s debut album ‘The Dusty Road’ with 11 tracks written by lead singer Les Dodd. The band will play a mixture of original songs and covers with Olivia Smith singing some Motown classics to round off the evening.
“This is a very talented group of musicians and it will be a great night of entertainment in support of two very good causes,” said Stewart, whose musical pedigree includes sharing a dressing room with David Bowie at the Mayfair in Newcastle and supporting superstars such as Deep Purple and Black Sabbath when he was in a band called Ginhouse in the late sixties and early seventies.
“It was in the early days, before they made it to the big time, but was a massively exciting time and music has been my entire life,” said Stewart.
Tickets are £12.00 for a table seat and £10.00 for the raised seating from Ticketsource or the box office.
