* Las Chicharras (Amazonic Tropical cumbia Andina psychedelic Chicha-roots) an amazing band full of Cumbia and psychedelia with an amplified strum of surf guitars ripping across a percussive bed of conga slaps, powerful cowbell and timbal sounds, bold bass, sweet Andean flute melodies and the gurgling rasp of a guiro.
The band includes a collective of top musicians from Los Chinches, Lokandes, Los Bravos de la K’umbia, Imperio Bamba, Manos Negras and Arriba la Cumbia! bringing the best psychedelic Chicha, Cumbia, Afrolatin, amazonic & tropical style integrating traditional andean folk instruments. A journey through the subgenres of cumbia music expanded in Latin America.
* Indy Newland is a 22-year-old, scruffy, transgender hiphop artist and skater from London. When his studies at Leeds Conservatoire suddenly came to a halt during lockdown, Indy found solace in listening to jazz-influenced, 'old-school' hiphop; leading him to learn how to produce and subsequently rap also. Since then, he's performed across multiple venues such as the Hifi Club, Headrow House and Peckham Audio. Indy’s sound is a kaleidoscope of the music he grew up with; hiphop, jazz and soul, and his lyricism appears deeply honest, yet playful. Vocally, Indy draws on classic RnB and Jazz singers like Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse, while his rap and production style hints at Hiphop super groups like A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde and Wu-tang Clan.
* Amazonia, a Peruvian dance group bringing the traditional dances from the jungle of Peru, native rhythms and incorporated with the psychedelic sound of Peruvian chicha. They pay obeisance and worship to the Sacred Boa so that the curse does not fall on their villages. A ritual dance where the native dancer pay their respect to the snakes, imitating the undulating movement of the boas crawling and dancing to the rhythm of the drums.
