Wonder Inn Acoustic Festival 2.0

The first Wonder Inn acoustic festival back in April 2016 was such a incredibly atmospheric day that it was only a matter of finding the right occasion to do it again.

" I've had the honour of hosting the Wonder Inn open mic night every Wednesday for the last year and so many incredible performers have walked through the door. It is my great pleasure to present a few of those wonderfully gifted people. I also invited to return some very special performers from across the country who rarely get the chance to gig in Manchester.

The festival will finish as last year with a Simon and Garfunkel singalong.

With love and vibrations from your host,

Gideon Conn"

LINE UP:

1pm: Doors

2pm - Lauren Davidson : Beautifully voiced Lincolnite living in Manchester. Blew me away at the Wonder Inn open mic night. Her EP 'One More Year' is out now.

2.40pm - Robyn Lowe : First heard her on MySpace around 10 years ago and have remembered her voice ever since.

Her songs remind me of Joni Mitchell and Billy Joel.

3pm - Everhazel : My long term collaborative partner. EP A Surgeon's Hand out now. An intensely releflective journey with a stunning dream pop soundscape.

3.40pm - Greg Genre : South Shields school teacher who mixes humour and social commentary with great musicianship. Fills the room with his wonderful personality.

4.40pm - Edwin Williamson : 90's Indie kid with an effortlessly high quality moody folk and blues sound. Perfect for lovers of Nick Cave and Ed Harcourt. I'm really looking forward to hearing 'Gasoline'.

5.30pm - Eliza Dolan : Liverpudlian late teen with her heart firmly in the seventies. Easily my favourite voice that I have ever heard on the Wonder Inn open mic stage. Eliza will be singing other people's songs but that's no problem - so did Elvis and Aretha.

6.10pm Thomas Holden : Funky guitar and soulful vocal supported by deeply grooving, laidback, percussive looping. Reminds me of Marc Antoine's classical jazz guitar stylings.

6.50pm - Hannah Ashcroft : Hannah's vocals and guitaring are on point, making her one of the best singer songwriters in Manchester today. You will just want to hear her again straight away. EP 'A Quiet Kind' out now.

7.40pm - Ivan Campo : My favourite acoustic trio and easily one of the best bands to have come out of Manchester. Now in their 12th year, with an 8 EP back catalogue of exquistely written, short and catchy songs. Recently starred on Spanish TV equivalent of Graham Norton.

8.30pm - Tom McQ : King Tom - AKA The Modfather. Part time chugger from Walthamstow. Full time legend. Smashed it so hard at last year's festival that the thought of having another one without him was way too much to bear.

9.30pm - Simon and Garfunkel singalong: Performed by Gideon Conn and Tom Briggs, with lyric projection.

Quite simply the most joyous way to spend an evening. It is a pleasute to share this repertoire of incredible songs by the most definitive duo in the history of popular music.
