Elsa Hewitt, Mike Drones & Enoby + Rosie Miles

Phantom Limb & Oporto present...

Elsa Hewitt

Songwriter and music producer from East Sussex via Yorkshire. Beginning as a young singer-songwriter producing demos on a four track, she progressed through fronting post-punk bands and solo electronic singer-songwriting, until her passion for recording and album-making would lead her to become known as a producer of avant-garde and experimental electronic music.

Since her 2017 official debut ‘Cameras From Mars’, stepping onto the scene as a Future Bubbler and Lynsey de Paul Prize winner, Hewitt has amassed a series of distinct yet interlinked philosophical worlds; each of the seven collections holding its own tones of joyful beauty and abstract emotion and presenting another step forward in her musical explorations. With a boundless approach to merging elements of dance & ambient, her sound is filled with subtleties as well as hooks, continuing to evolve yet remaining centred by the presence of her earthy voice, idiosyncratic songwriting style and sharply poetic lyricism.

Rosie Miles

Vocalist and writer whose compositions sit between the worlds of Folk & Jazz. Drawing influence from Joni Mitchell, Lianne La Havas and Nina Simone, she tells stories through intricate melodies and poetic lyrics. Since migrating North three years ago, she has worked with many familiar faces in the Leeds scene, touring with B-ahwe and co-founding Flood Company and Ah Um Collective.
Her band brings together musicians that she’s collaborated with extensively throughout her time at Leeds Conservatoire with Sam Palizian (Bass) aka APLTN, Spacey Basement extraordinaire Theo Black (Guitar) and one of the minds behind Portraits, Luca Ferrara (Drums). Weaving together Jazz harmony, soaring melodies and psychedelic soundscapes, expect an original take on classic songwriting.
