Why will it be good for you?

Cultural competence refers to an ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures. With Swansea University being home to students and staff from 144 different countries, cultural competence training is vital to be able to understand, communicate and effectively interact with those in our community. Moving on in life, this will act as the foundation of you becoming a well-grounded, understanding and tolerant global citizen.

Mark Jones is the academic lead for the Department of Adult Continuing Education with the college of Arts and Humanities. The research he is involved with focuses on contemporary LGBTQ+ identities, Feminism and parenting, Anti-Oppressive Practice, working with children and young people and black and minority ethnic perspectives.
