Delta Ladies & Jamie Williams

Presenting two of the UK's finest up and coming originals bands , both with new albums and fresh  takes on traditional genres;

Returning to the Lamb are the DELTA LADIES with a new mini-album 'Money's All Gone'. The band's music was described by Fatea Magazine as “A genuinely original, and intoxicating, blend of eastern, western and primitive country-blues.  Rory Carlile of NEW ROOTSPROMOTIONS describes it as, “Where Old Time Americana meets the Velvet Underground”.   The DELTAS'  highly original musical blend, with it's strong folk elements, has recently wowed audiences at several big festivals including Ealing Blues Festival where their sound was described as “Awakening and mesmerizing tired ears”.  The DELTA LADIES have added  renowned double bassist Tony Reeves to their line-up. Tony's career includes playing on Davy Graham's celebrated 'Folk, Blues and Beyond' album, plus stints, with John Mayall, John Martyn & Colosseum. The rhythm section of Tony Reeves & Danny Bryan - percussion (Drifters/Imagination) is  one of the very best in Europe and the UK.

Fronting the DELTA LADIES are – Vicky Martin – Guitar / Banjo / Kandela/ Bouzouki; Dee Stone – violin / Keys and as well as songs from their new album they will be playing songs from their noted album - 'Hillbilly Trance' which was produced by Tali Trow (John Murray, Maria Mullholland).

For this gig they are joined by former Nine Below and Yardbirds harmonica player Alan Glen

The DELTAS' exotic sound draws regular comparison to THE DOORS, INCREDIBLE STRING BAND and QUINTESSENCE. They are also noted for the cutting political edge of their music. In particular the controversial title track of their ‘Refugee’ album which can be found on the video section of their website. In the words of AROUND KENT FOLK magazine the Deltas are 'Mesmerizing and brilliant -you can almost smell the incense'. In other words 'not to be missed.
