MC GARY TRO –

★★★★★ - THREE WEEKS

★★★★ - WHATSONSTAGE

★★★★ - VENUE

As seen on BBC iPlayer and heard on BBC Radio 4, stand-up Gary Tro ("expect comedic genius" - LondonCalling.com) is an exciting breakthrough act making waves on the UK and international comedy circuit with his joyously angry and hilariously anarchic style of comedy.

In addition to stand-up, Gary is something of a gifted all-rounder with skills including acting, presenting and voice over work.

He’s also a talented improviser and performs as one half of nerd-culture double act The Just Us League

A regular on the touring circuit, in 2017 Gary supported Tez Ilyas on national tour and took his own show ‘SupercalifragilisticexpiGaryTrocious’ to festivals all across the UK and at the Charleston Comedy Festival USA. In 2018, Gary is making his Australian touring debut with his new show ‘Gary Tro-ke Karaoke’.

NEWCOMER – AIMEE COOPER

A new act to watch – Grinstock Comedy

Actress and now comedian, East Grinstead Resident, Aimee Cooper has been building her online awareness and presence, having also appeared at We Are Funny Project , Funny Woman, Comedy Virgins.

We’re excited to see what she has in store as she makes her first appearance at Grinstock

HEADLINER 1 - ANIL DESAI (Back by POPULAR demand)

Star of ITV’s The Imitation Game

" ★★★★ Uniquely entertaining...consistently funny" Three Weeks

"It's not just clever, but utterly hilarious" Edinburgh Evening News

Anil Desai’s unique brand of feel good, energetic, stand-up comedy is based on his real-life stories, experiences and observations - at times dry, occasionally sarcastic, but with genuine honesty and an optimistic wisdom, from his love of movies, and film-stars to his everyday life, global travels, relationships and the ever-changing state of the world and it’s cultures.

His sets are fused with a who’s who of amazing impressions, international accents and every day characters as he twists, turns and transforms himself into our favourite movie stars & celebrities with dynamic speed and lovable charm, often losing himself in the mix whilst creating hilariously entertaining results and being one of the most adaptable comics in the industry.

He won the audience vote for best comedian at the 2010 Asian Comedy Slam for doing more than just ‘Indian’ comedy. He has made guest appearances on Chortle’s Fast Fringe showcase, The Hour (STV), Hey, Hey, it’s Saturday! (Channel 9, AUS), The Unknown Movie show (Ch31 Aus), Good Morning, 4Live and Asia Down Under (TVNZ), The Kerner Show(German TV), Ali Mcgregor’s Cabaret Kitsch (BBC Radio 4) Humour TV(Netherlands), The Slammer Returns (CBBC) and BBC Asian Networks Big Comedy Night

What the press have to say:

"Uniquely entertaining...consistently funny and memorable" ★★★★ Three Weeks

"Impressionist triumphs in his latest show" ★★★★ The Fest

"A Tour-de-force of impressions...side-splittingly funny... Desai is ridiculously talented...Stardom is beckoning" ★★★★ Edinburgh Guide

"...his mimics are exceptionally good..." Chortle

"It's not just clever, but utterly hilarious...one to watch" Edinburgh Evening News

“Highly entertaining stuff from an accomplished act…must be seen to be believed” ★★★★½ Herald Sun

HEADLINER 2 - BOBBY MAIR

'Bobby Mair is clearly a brilliant stand up' - Jimmy Carr

As seen on Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC2) /

8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4) / Virtual Famous (Channel 4)

& Russell Howard’s Good News, plus many more

Bobby Mair is a Canadian stand-up comedian based in London. Earlier this year, he embarked on a 26-city tour of the UK culminating in 3 nights at Soho Theatre and also appeared in Comedy Central’s Roast Battle. He created and starred in the reality sitcom Bobby and Harriet: Get Married with his wife Harriet Kemsley for Viceland which follows both stand-up comedians as they prepare for their big day. Bobby’s other credits include; 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC2), and The Hour (CBC TV.)

What the press has to say:

'Bobby Mair is clearly a brilliant stand up. He's either going to be a huge international comedy star or the funniest homeless man ever.' - Jimmy Carr

'A gleefully profane, joyously explicit comedy where the sickest images can be conjured up and the most cherished taboos broken, all for the sake of laughter.’ James Kettle - Guardian

'Will stamp pictures in your brain that may never go away.’ - The Scotsman

'This Canadian comic possesses a vital spark, a certain way about him that makes him exciting to watch.’  - Will Pope, Broadway Baby

'It was all bad sex, bad drugs and dysfunctional childhood. And very funny. Mair is a little scattershot and disconcertingly candid, but also very engaging.’ - Bruce Dessau, Beyond the Joke.

'Functionally mentally ill' comic who's capable of greatness, as long as you don't mind it steeped in grubby depravity’ - Niki Boyle, Time Out.
