The Kut

The Kut | Rock Decadium Tour
"Infused with the fuzz of 90's grunge and alt.rock, The Kut is the alter-ego of multi-instrumentalist and PhD Graduate, Princess Maha. Live, they're a trio.

Think Deftones, L7, Nirvana, Hole, Lunachicks, Incubus and Placebo. On record, they roar. Finalist of the UK Songwriting Contest 2017 and 2018, and Semi-Finalist of the International Songwriting Competition, The Kut scored a deal with Cargo Records for her own Criminal Records label in 2018, leading to the release of the debut album ‘Valley of Thorns’. Produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / Def Leppard /White Zombie / My Vitriol), its launch was fan-funded via PledgeMusic, hitting 300% of target.

The album spent two weeks in the UK Rock Albums Chart, reaching No.7 and charting in 6 other UK album charts. Currently active on the UK and European rock scene, festival performances have included Download, Camden Rocks Festival, Rebellion Festival, Croydon Rocks, Wilkestock, Amplified, Nice N Sleazy and Strummercamp among others, while tours have spanned the UK, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Voted into the winning spots of the MTV Brand New Unsigned Poll for 2014, releases have gained support from - deep breath - The Guardian, Metro, Scuzz, Kerrang! Magazine, Planet Rock, BBC Introducing Lancashire, Kerrang! Radio, Metal Hammer, Big Cheese, Q and Classic Rock, AXS TV and MTV-U USA. Supporting DJs include Kerrang! Radio’s Johnny Doom, Sean McGinty at BBC Introducing, Wyatt Wendels at Planet Rock, Tony Wilson at Total Rock, Hard Rock Hell, as well as Def Leppard front-man Joe Elliott. The album achieved airplay on 100+ stations worldwide and in 12 US states on AAA, Specialist and College Radio, including three weeks airplay on The Rodney Bingenheimer Show and numerous NACC Rock Chart adds. Meanwhile video playlists included MTV-U USA, Scuzz, AXS TV USA & Soundnet."
