Lunchtime Live At 'The Cavern'

Shrewsbury Beatles Weekend presents Lunchtime Live at ‘The Cavern’ at The Buttermarket Cellars. Live Beatles music with The Backbeat Three, Famous Last Words and Two-faced Tom & The Bootleg Boys.

Settle down with a drink, a light brunch, a Sunday paper and enjoy some great Beatles music in a venue that will bring back Cavern memories! Doors open at 11.30am and the event ends at 2.30pm.

Featuring Pete Jandrell on Bass, Rick Buck on Guitar, Barry Jones on Drums, The BackBeat Three play the early Beatles live stompin' rock and roll covers from the heady Hamburg days up to their 1965 album release Help! Its Backbeat all the way.

Famous Last Words are a 5-piece band and have been playing the Shropshire live music circuit for almost 14 years now playing a wide range of classics from the 50s to the 80s all of which are juke box favourites. Every member of the band is a Beatles fanatic and they have been involved with Beatles music events in Shrewsbury before, playing a wide range of Beatles songs from the early stuff right up to the later years.

Tom and Lee have been together as friends and music partners for a few years now playing in bands and at present playing as an acoustic duo act. They go under the name of Two-faced Tom and the Bootleg Boys. It is their love of Rockabilly music and Hank Williams that makes them quite different to the everyday local bands. Their love of The Beatles makes them perfect for the Buttermarket and we will be hearing some very early Beatles classics from them both.

The Buttermarket in Howard Street, Shrewsbury is an iconic grade II listed building and is Shropshire’s biggest entertainment venue, comprising of three unique floors – The Cellars, Main Arena and VIP Mezzanine levels. The venue hosts a range of live concerts and gigs, banqueting, conferences, comedy nights, nightclub promotions, cage fighting and many other entertainment activities.

Tickets: £10 (+ £1 booking fee) including bacon roll and salad (or vegetarian & gluten-free options) Please book alternative options at least 7 days in advance. Children aged under 16 are free but must be accompanied by an adult. Additional food will be available for sale at the event.
