GO! Active Social - Volleyball and Beach Chill (or maybe not the beach due to Welsh Weather!)

Please note this event is for Swansea University Students (and their family/friends) and is not open to the general public. A Valid Swansea University Student ID number will be required to complete your booking.

We had hoped to hold this event outside and on the beach, but due to Wales's unique weather, we can't - we'll be heading inside so please come to Bay Sports Centre instead!

Where: Meet up at Bay Sport Centre, Bay Campus – Then to the Beach!

This summer we’re giving you the chance to try some fantastic new activities and sports FOR FREE! Sports can be intimidating, but this is about smiles not sweat – it’s an awesome opportunity to meet some mates and possibly discover some hidden talents! Never swung a racquet before? – we don’t care! Not sure how to volley a ball? That’s what we’re here to show you! We’re talking everything from Ping-Pong to Sand Sculpting, from Badminton to Beach Volleyball.

This week we’re heading back outside with the return of super popular Volleyball and some chilled-out beach games! All the equipment is provided, - all you need to do is come along and give it a go.

Now remember, this isn’t the Olympics, so leotards and Lycra are not required – but please be sure to wear comfortable clothes, and we’d recommend trainers rather than sliders or heels! 😊 We also recommend bringing some sunscreen and water – when the sun does shine in Wales, enjoy it safely.

COVID-19: This event fully complies with current restrictions.  During the event, you must ensure that you follow all rules and restrictions as advised. You may also be required to provide Track and Trace information which will be securely stored for 21 days as required by law. Please remember to bring a face mask with you.  You must not attend the event if you have COVID symptoms or have been instructed to self-isolate.

Cancellation policy: Tickets are free, but due to COVID restrictions spaces are really limited.  If you can’t make it, please let us know as soon as you can so we can free up the space for someone else.  You just need to cancel it via www.fatsoma.com/orders.

Conduct: You are responsible for your own behaviour and time keeping. Please take reasonable care of your own and other people's health and safety and follow all safety guidance given.

Accessibility: The main activities of this event will take place on sand. The beach itself is accessible, however please consider this environmental setting if you are planning to attend. If you have any concerns or queries regarding the suitability of this event, or have any specific accessibility requirements, please contact gosocial@swansea.ac.uk as soon as possible. We will do our best to assist, however we cannot guarantee all requirements can be met.

Children: This event is aimed at adult participation, so on this occasion, we’re unable to offer child places – do keep an eye on our events for future child-friendly activities!

Data Protection: International@CampusLife will use the information you provide for attendance and safety purposes. We will use your data to produce internal statistics but will not share it with third parties or use it for marketing purposes. Your information will be provided to our activity leader on the day of the activity for the purpose of attendance monitoring and emergency situations. The information will be kept confidential and passed back to ICL and destroyed (once we have passed the legally required COVID-19 Track & Trace period). Photos: We will be taking photos throughout the event which we will use to promote future activities in the form of leaflets, social media posts, digital screens and on our website. If you would not like to be included, then please tell us on the day of the event. If you see yourself in any pictures and would like to be removed, please email us at gosocial@swansea.ac.uk and we will make sure that any photos of you are deleted.
