I am pleased to invite you to celebrate the grand opening of Tatale at The Africa Centre with an exclusive pre-launch dinner on Monday 11th July from 19:30 - 22:00.
Tatale is a Restaurant and Bar concept created by Akwasi Brenya-Mensa, telling contemporary Pan-African stories through Food, Art and Culture. The concept was born in Ghana and later developed in London and its namesake is a pancake made from Plantain — the ubiquitous ingredient found in African Diaspora cuisines right across the world. Akwasi considers it to be the culinary symbol of Black identity.
The Africa Centre is a London-based charity that is steeped in history and which celebrates the diversity of Africa and its global diaspora. The newly renovated building in Southwark is Tatale's new home and boasts a newly fitted kitchen, bar, beautiful terraces, an exhibition floor and spaces filled with African artwork and design.
Please join us for an evening of celebrations, with a four-course Pan-African menu and cocktail that take cues from my Ghanaian heritage as well as exploring the techniques and ingredients from across the Continent.
I look forward to seeing you there.
