White Peak distillery tasting

White Peak Distillery is based in the Peak District region of England and was founded in 2016 by local husband-and-wife team Max & Claire Vaughan, lifelong whisky fans with no background in drinks or spirits. Under the brand ‘Wire Works’, a lightly-peated single malt English whisky is the core spirit, which is unique in the English whisky scene. The Distillery has won multiple awards not only for its first whiskies, but also for its Distillery visitor experiences and the much-celebrated Wire Works whisky packaging. In 2023, recognition included a Gold Medal for the Caduro release in the IWSC Awards and a Masters Medal for Alter Ego in the Global World Whisky Masters (in both cases the only English whisky to receive these top awards in 2023).

The Distillery is based in a UNESCO world heritage site at a former wire works, which was at the heart of the local community for over 120 years. They were innovators, exporting all over the world and making products the proper way from quality materials. Wire Works whisky builds on these values and the legacy informs the distillery’s long-term approach to whisky-making.
