Dead Idols were originally born in 2019 when vocalist and guitarist Chris Kirkillis and bassist Rebecca Cooper decided to record some demos together after years of talking about it. After getting in touch with Tequila Mockingbyrd’s Josie O’Toole (and Cooper’s high school friend) and persuading her with KFC to play the skins, 9 months later their first EP “Creep Joint” was completed, with ‘Hellcat’ being the first release. Drawing on influences from Frank Sinatra, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Rancid and the 1950s, Dead Idols bring together the sound of raw punk rock instilled with lilting melodies, power chords and some sweet rockabilly and blues enthused riffs.
With O’Toole’s departure from the band due to commitments with The Hot Damn! (and a hefty geographical difference), Dead Idols turned to their old drummer friend Ben Metcalfe, who had been on a musical hiatus due to the birth of his son. But now, 2 years on, was itching to get back slamming the skins and joined Los Banditos to rock and roll the world over!
