THE ORPHEUS COLLECTIVE PRESENTS:

PETER CAT – Glasgow-based oddball popsters bring their full band show to Edinburgh for only the second time in recorded history. In addition to be performing plenty of top-secret new material. Come watch watch Peter Cat take a hammer to all of the goodwill we’ve steadily built up over the past year as they metamorphose into a fully-fledged prog band. FFO: Sparks, The Divine Comedy, Frank Zappa, King Crimson (possibly).

"Ten minutes ago I was laughing, five minutes ago I was crying...it's pulled together with great panache and sounds quite unlike anything else I can put my finger on right now" – I Said Yeah

"A jaunty trip through the familiarly twinned emotions of admiration and envy...sung at such a speed and with hardly a pause for breath that's reminiscent of early Scott Walker" – The Morning Star

"Irreverent and smart pop music in the mold of Neil Hannon, Jarvis Cocker, Luke Haines and a sprinkling of Scott Walker...Peter Cat casts a wry eye over the world, and is moved to make music to match" – Scots Whay Hae!

AMATEUR CULT – based along the Firth of Forth coast, Amateur Cult has created a unique take on post punk and electronica, embracing stark atmospherics, emphatic rhythms and retro synths referencing artists like Jonny Greenwood, Boards of Canada, Crack Cloud, Bjork, and the documentaries of Adam Curtis.

Created as a solo DIY project by Alastair Chivers, Amateur Cult released the debut album, The Mirrored Pattern, in October 2022 - a collection of songs that traverse darkwave and art rock, painting cerebral pictures for its listeners coloured with brooding drums, soundscape pianos and pagan melodies - receiving praise from BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, Keep It Fast and Is This Music. Now Amateur Cult performs live with a full band as part featuring members from Acidsaurus Bong, DTHPDL, Chuchoter, Robot Death Monkey, and rapper / MC TH!NK.
