Be Inclusive Hospitality x Akwasi Brenya-Mensa present “Being a Black Woman in Hospitality” Panel Discussion

Be Inclusive Hospitality CIC and Akwasi Brenya-Mensa collaborate to bring you a line-up of leading women within the hospitality sector to have frank and honest conversations about life, careers, achievements and finding balance. Hosted by Lorraine Copes, Founder of Be Inclusive Hospitality, she will be joined by Keisha Sakarah - Food Writer/Founder of Caribe’, Jokè Bakare – Chef/Founder of Chishuru, Fikayo Ifaturoti – Business Development Executive at Pol Roger, and Jenna Ba, Global Brand Ambassador at Diageo

This panel aims to celebrate the work of women within the industry and to inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals to follow in their footsteps. The panel discussion will be followed by African and Caribbean Drinks, and West African Canapes – all included within the ticket price.

Lorraine Copes founded Be Inclusive Hospitality in 2019, with a mission to drive education, amplify voices and build a strong community and accelerate racial equality and equity within UK hospitality. Her business focusses on supporting upward social mobility for People of Colour within hospitality, with over 400 members. In June 2021, her organisation published the Inside Hospitality Report, a report which aims to capture the experiences of hospitality professionals and understand those experiences pertaining to race, bias, training and career progression.

More than just a restaurant concept, Akwasi’s Tatale is building a network or ecosystem to nurture and platform aspiring Black food professionals and to create more opportunities within our communities and for the more marginalised members of our communities. As Tatale grows, it aims to offer a business incubator, as well as to offer mentorship and training opportunities to aspiring Black hospitality professionals, including women, non-binary and LGBTQ+ members of the community.
