PHP Developer
At Fatsoma we use object oriented PHP 5, MySQL and HTML/CSS/AJAX to produce the world's best online promotions platform which is used by thousands of people every day to sell tickets for their events online.
If that sounds like something you'd like to do, we're looking for PHP web developers who can jump in at the deep end, solve complex problems and who have an eye for user experience and interface design.
Ideally you will be at home editing and maintaining other people's code as well as extending and improving existing features. You will also be tasked with developing entirely new features from scratch, going through an ideas and specification stage, onto design and development and finally into testing and iterative improvements. This process will require you to have your hand in all three pies - database, PHP and front end HTML/CSS/JS.
Our second most used language is JavaScript, so it would help if you have some experience since a fair part of your job will likely involve building dynamic user interfaces. We base our code off the popular and mature PrototypeJS library, and aim for object oriented implementations where possible.
Plus, there's a chance to get involved with more serious server side scalability and architectural work, including distributed memcached implementations, our high speed custom ORM, database sharding and all sorts of other goodies.
Required:
- A passion for technology, the web, and programming
- 2+ years experience with object oriented PHP
- 2+ years experience with MySQL (or similar)
- 1-2+ years experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript
Not required, but helpful:
- Amazing table football skills!
- Experience with Eclipse, Linux, Apache, Subversion.
- Experience working in teams
- Experience working to deadlines
- Degrees - BSc, MSc, PhD in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related
- .NET on mobile devices

QA Engineer
As our web development team grows, we need a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to help us maintain our high standards. Your position is a crucial part of the successful expansion of our development team.
Your job will be to evaluate and assess code produced by the web development team, test the code delivered and report back with anything that needs changing.
You will need skills and experience with PHP, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript and CSS to be able to properly evaluate features produced by the team.
You will work closely within the development team, using your expertise and experience, guidance from senior developers and general development guidelines produced by the company to help us all produce our best work.
Your day to day activities will include code reviews, bug reports, documentation, testing, creating development processes for the team and sometimes pair programming with individual developers. You would be working as part of a small team who works closely together. We meet regularly and discuss our current tasks to help each other out where we can.
Required:

- Some experience of QA processes and extensive testing
